Big Walk Island Landmarks: Coordinates, Map Room & How to Unlock the Full Map

Where are the major landmarks on the island?

The community-maintained landmark directory on bigwalk.art lists the island’s major points of interest with in-game coordinates. Use these as anchors when your group splits up:

Beyond the towers, the directory also tracks seven radio points, the Lost & Found (where lost items turn up), and the Customisation Room. The Red Tower is the island’s central structure — and the gateway to the map itself.

How do I unlock the full island map?

The island hides a proper cartography station. According to Polygon’s map guide, the unlock chain runs like this:

1. Collect five gourd-shaped collectibles — they hang around the island like oversized calabashes.
2. Trade them at the Red Tower for a key.
3. Shave the key down, following the arrows, until it fits.
4. Find the blue door with red stairs and use the shaved key on it.
5. Inside is the Map Room — with the full island map on the wall.

Why bother with the Map Room?

Two reasons. First, a shared wall map changes how a group navigates: one player can point the laser at a tower while everyone else argues about the route, which beats describing landmarks over voice chat from opposite sides of the island. Second, the carryable paper map means your group’s navigator can scout ahead without dragging everyone along.
