Big Walk Achievements: All 12 and How to Unlock Them

All 12 Big Walk achievements and their exact unlock triggers, including the tricky Big Climb, Big Makeover, Big Goodbye and Big Game endings.

Overview

Big Walk by House House (the studio behind Untitled Goose Game) ships with 12 achievements, plus a Platinum trophy on PlayStation for earning all of them. Ten unlock through natural progression or simple equipment use; the other two — Big Climb and Big Makeover — require dedicated detours. Nothing is missable: the island stays open after both endings, and all progress lives in the host’s save. This list was cross-checked against multiple community sources in October 2026.

The Trigger Rule That Explains Most “Bugged” Achievements

Nearly every stuck achievement in Big Walk comes from doing 90% of the action:

  • Opening the drawbridge ≠ crossing it. Big Walk needs your character on the far side.
  • Picking up the Backpack ≠ wearing it. Big Pack needs it visibly attached to your back (see tools and toys for how items equip).
  • Finding the map ≠ Big View. The trigger is entering the physical Map Room; the portable map is just an item.
  • The hip belt alone ≠ Big Help. Attach a compatible item — the folded portable map is the cleanest test.
  • Reaching a station ≠ riding. Big Sit and Big Ride only fire while you’re physically on the moving chairlift or train.
  • Standing at a threshold ≠ entering. Big Tunnel fires inside the tunnel, not at its door.

If an achievement doesn’t pop, complete the final verb — cross, wear, enter, ride — before assuming it’s broken.

  1. Big Walk — comes naturally in the tutorial.
  2. Big Pack — equip the first Backpack you find; give it to whoever carries progression items.
  3. Big View — Red route progression opens the Map Room.
  4. Big Help — fold the portable map, equip the hip belt, slot the map in.
  5. Big Sit — Green route; board a circulating seat.
  6. Big Climb — use the upper chairlift route, then keep climbing past it; the trigger is elevation, not the ride.
  7. Big Tunnel — Yellow route; walk fully inside.
  8. Big Ride — Blue route; board the moving train.
  9. Big Wall — Black route; pass through to the far side.
  10. Big Goodbye — complete the normal ending.
  11. Big Game — continue the same save: finish the purple challenges and the true ending route.
  12. Big Makeover — optional underground Shiny route; Yellow progression opens the way in.

Chasing achievements out of order wastes time — most are checkpoints on routes you’ll travel anyway.

Big Goodbye vs Big Game

These are not the same unlock. Big Goodbye fires at the normal ending’s credits; Big Game requires full completion afterward — the seven purple challenges, remaining unfinished puzzles, and the hidden final-key route that leads to the true ending. If Big Goodbye popped but Big Game didn’t, that’s expected: keep playing the same save, don’t restart. See the endings guide for the exact split.

Does Big Game Require Big Makeover?

Community testing says no — Big Makeover (the Shiny route) stands apart from the Big Game completion chain. Still worth grabbing while you’re in the underground area, since it’s the rarest achievement by far.

Achievement FAQ

How many achievements are in Big Walk?
Twelve, plus a PlayStation Platinum for collecting them all. No DLC or patch has added more as of version 1.4.8.
Can I keep earning achievements after Big Goodbye?
Yes — continue on the same save. Purple challenges, cleanup, and Big Game all happen after the normal ending.
Do achievements sync for everyone in co-op?
Progress belongs to the host’s world, so plan achievement hunts in one consistent host’s save.
Is Big Climb the same as riding the chairlift?
No. Big Sit is the chairlift; Big Climb is a separate elevation trigger at the island’s highest terrain. If Big Sit fired but Big Climb didn’t, keep climbing.
